This is an outstanding game -even- if you never played the original!... nostalgia? forget about it!

all of the positive reviews about AliceX are well deserved, but many of them talk about the 'nostalgia' value and the 'good old days' and "when i was a kid i walked 10 miles to purchase an Atari 2600 game cartridge"... well i never played this game before (heck, i thought Alice X was Malcom's sister)... but for a measly two bucks (as Alfred E. Newman would say, 'Cheap!') i decided to spring for download and man, i'm glad i did... the idea is simple... you play the roll of alice and land on on a chess board populated by the residents of Wonderland or the White House or a standard chess board or some strange 50-year-old white guy's idea of what hip-hop land must look like! its then you against all the other pieces and, moving as quickly (and strategicly as you can) you try to capture all of the other pieces before they capture you. think of it as a neurotransmitter-enhanced chess-based arcade game. a few minutes to master, a lifetime to learn (no, wait... that's something else)... it took me a few quick games before i got the feel of what i needed to do, and then all heck broke loose... very satisfying game play... terrific graffics... fun music... if you're looking to get deep into the rabbit hole for a few minutes (waiting for a friend or standing on that crazy checkout line with the 'trainee' running the register) AliceX will nicely transport you far far away!
The Good Old Days!

I remember thinking THIS IS COOL when I first got a copy of this game for the Mac - and it still is. It brings back many good memories. It was "Alice" before it was "Through The Looking Glass" and it, and the melting digital clock were an important part of any demo of the Mac (especially in early to mid-1984).
Zany oldschool fun!

This game won't blow your socks off, but it is a wonderful piece of historically-inspired art. Go to the onedoto.com website and read the links about the history of the game. How cool is that! I almost feel that anyone who is a true "cult of mac" type should buy this simply as a way of saying thanks to Steve Capps for all his wonderful work at Apple. And, AliceX will bring a smile (or a cheshire cat grin) as you play it. The music is great and the Alice theme is a perfect tie-in to the wonders of the mac revolution.
